Annual Efficiency Statement
 

1.      A joint publication has been produced between IDeA and the Regional Centres of Excellence.  ‘Efficiency matters: the Annual Efficiency Statement and the bigger picture”, is a pocket guide to efficiency and is designed to help explain what you need to do to meet the 15^th April 2005 deadline for delivery of your first Annual Efficiency Statement as well as how efficiency relates to your CPA rating.  http://www.idea-knowledge.gov.uk/idk/aio/664218
 

Management Board
 

2.      We held a workshop style meeting with the Centre’s Management Board yesterday, which was facilitated by Mike Greenwood of GONW.  The meeting was lively, very constructive and covered many topics.  We will now redraft the Centre’s business plan to reflect the changes in the Centre’s extended Terms of Reference but will also look at Governance arrangements including more involvement of the Workstream Leaders and Members.  The first draft of the business plan will be circulated to Management Board members at the end of April.
 

3.      To ensure we are communicating at the right levels we need to ensure we have the correct names on our distribution lists.  We would like each organisation to email us the details of three staff with responsibility for efficiency – a senior officer, member and your PR rep.  Obviously if you have provided this information in the past you do not need to send it again.  Please email name, position, organisation, email address and telephone number to shelley.taylor@tameside.gov.uk.  We need this information from all NW Authorities.

Efficiency Targets

4.  The Centre has been taking a number of calls regarding the Efficiency Target for each individual Council in the North West and asking for further information. Each Council was sent its target in a letter to the Chief Executives. If there are any further questions regarding these targets please contact the Centre nwcope@tameside.gov.uk
