Waste Survey
The OGC have sent out a local authority survey for waste management via the Chief Executive Officer at each local authority in the North West.
It is important that the OGC achieve an 80% return rate to get meaningful data that will be useful to OGC and to local authorities themselves.
The information provided
will be used to: ° Promote best practice ° Clarify the need for new facilities as landfill diminishes ° Improve strategic procurement in the municipal waste management sector (local authorities as a whole will become a more informed customer with improved information to hand, increasing opportunity of co-ordination between authorities) ° Provide information under the new LATS scheme ° Provide good information on demand requirements for waste services (which will improve competition and innovation from suppliers and increase market capacity)
