Wigan leads the way on the procurement of Refuse Collection Vehicles in the North West
Wigan has agreed to be the lead for the procurement of Refuse Collection Vehicles in the North West and work is just about to start on establishing a baseline position. We’ve had a number of local authorities expressing an interest in being part of the workstream but if you haven’t expressed an interest and would like to join the group please contact Bev Brooks at the Centre bev.brooks@tameside.gov.uk
As part of the initial work a baseline questionnaire is being circulated to all Local Authorities to try and size the RCV market in the North West and also look at the various contracts that people are tied into and also the duration of that contract.
One of the first objectives of the group is to put a framework agreement together for RCV’s but as time progresses it is expected that this will be developed further to include: Other vehicles e.g. Lorries, Vans and Cars and develop appropriate framework agreements for these. And then Examine the potential to work collaboratively to deliver fleet manage transport solutions between and on behalf of other authorities.
