Refuse Collection Vehicles and other Transport

1.      As you know Wigan are leading on this and work is starting.  Volunteers are sought from other Councils who wish to be involved – Transport and Cleansing Managers and Procurement specialists are needed.  An initial meeting will be held in mid January.  Please make relevant people aware within your authority and contact Samantha Worsfold at Wigan (S.Worsfold@wiganbc.gov.uk) with expressions of interest.

2.      Please find attached a copy of the briefing note from the meeting of the Chief Executives Taskforce.

Christmas

3.      Season’s greeting to all who have been involved with the North West Centre of Excellence.  The progress and momentum we have built over the last seven months is remarkable.  Thank you for your support and involvement.  We look forward to “benefits realisation” in 2005.
